Dr. Parag Diwan

Dr Diwan did his post graduation in Chemical Engineering from US and subsequently earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from Panjab University. He has recently attended advanced program at Harvard University and MIT Boston After spending over a decade in Corporate Sector, especially in high-technology companies, he decided to contribute to the academic world. He is now widely acknowledged as a leader in higher education having built many institutions notably, University of Petroleum at Dehradun. He has won several national and international awards for his accomplishments including those at London and Houston. He was also awarded HP fellowship for work in online education. He has more than 200 papers to his credit and has participated in several national and international conferences. He has authored and co-authored over 40 books on various management and energy subjects and has also been a contributing editor to various journals. Currently, he is an evangelist and advisor to several Institutions working on the area how with the advent of 4 th industry revolution, education should also transform to what he calls Education 4.0

DIWAN FAMILY HERITAGE

Dr. Parag Diwan belongs to a family that traces its history over last century as being “The Diwans” of the Royal Estate of Scindias in Gwalior where their status was equivalent to current Finance Minister. His grandfather made a departure from the Diwan family tradition and attended Thomson College of Civil Engineering, (now known as IIT Roorkee) and was instrumental during days of British Raj in building several roads and bridges in central provinces (now known as Madhya Pradesh). Dr. Diwan’s parents taught law and literature at Punjab University. His father has been an authority on Family Law and Constitutional Law. His wife Shalini is very compassionate about weaker sector of society and runs a charitable organization to support poor children’s education and to provide assistance to women artisans. The family is a great patron of education, art and literature and upholds social values and very high ethical standards.
